An Eventful Community
Hundreds of events are held each year in the Napa Valley. An extensive Calendar of Napa Events is available on www.napachamber.com
The Napa Valley Wine Auction is the world’s most successful charity wine auction, with over $50 million raised for local nonprofit agencies since its inception in 1981. In 2005 alone, the event raised $10.3 million. The 2007 Napa Valley Wine Auction will be held from June seventh through the tenth.
The Napa Valley Exposition hosts events throughout the year, with the Town & Country Fair taking center stage in August. Prize winning cakes, preserves and homemade wines are tasted, fancy needlework and fine art fill the exhibition halls, and 4-Hers proudly show off their projects and livestock. The action on several sounds stages is non-stop. There’s even a rodeo!
With a city built along a river, it’s only natural that Napa holds a River Festival. On Labor Day weekend, the Napa Valley Symphony performs under the stars as the Third Street Bridge is transformed into a stage and the banks of the Napa River and the Veterans Memorial Park become an amphitheater.
Fall is harvest and crush time, which means time for the Wine and Crafts Fair. Vendors from all over California vie to have a booth downtown during this street festival. It’s a great place to do holiday shopping, and there’s the added attraction of wine tasting by Napa Valley’s premier wineries.
The holidays are a very special time in Downtown Napa. The Candlelight Home Tour offers the chance to see the interiors of some of Napa’s most beautiful Victorian homes.
Enjoy a sensational season of wine country events celebrating the food, wine, art, and culture of the Napa Valley during the Napa Valley Mustard Festival every February – March. The two-month season, when fields, vineyards, and hillsides are vibrant with wild mustard in bloom, celebrates the rich, unique agricultural and historical bounty of the Napa Valley. The Mustard Season offers a full palette of food, wine, art, entertainment, and cultural activities staged throughout the world-famous grape growing region.
