Chamber Committees

Napa Chamber committees and task forces work toward a better community

BUSINESS BUILDERS

What do the small business owners of today need and want to hear about? This group is in the know – and needs you to help them know even more! Business Builders works closely with the Small Business Development Center to craft engaging and informative educational sessions for the joint Wake Up Your Business Wednesday monthly programs. You’ll meet great people, hear the freshest ideas and truly contribute to the Napa Valley business community by being a member of this committee. Meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Napa Chamber of Commerce or other location as announced. (9 a.m.)

INFRASTRUCTURE & TRANSPORTATION TASK FORCE

Wondering just how all the planning and coordination that is needed for the Flood Control Project, transportation management, traffic impacts and Bay Area transit gets done? You’ll find out from the experts when you attend one of the ITT meetings. This task force, formed to help businesses deal with all the impacts of these major influences, meets on the first Friday of every other month. (9 a.m.)

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COMMITTEE

Love to find out about your fellow business owners? Want to know what changes are happening in their businesses? Have a curiosity about how well the Napa Chamber may be meeting their needs? All your questions are good ones if you are part of the Membership Services Committee. These volunteers contact current members of the Chamber to gauge their satisfaction, update our data base, look for new trends or problems in the community and just to be a friendly voice on the phone. If you’re a “people person,” this is the committee for you. Meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at different member restaurant locations. (Noon)

BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for planning the annual event held at Silverado Resort in July. The committee chooses the beneficiaries for the event and awards $5,000 in donations. Join this committee if you are committed to making a positive difference where we live and work. The Golf Tournament Committee meets monthly at the Chamber of Commerce from February to July each year.

LEGISLATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE

One of the most active committees of the Napa Chamber of Commerce is the Board appointed 19-member Legislative Action Committee. This committee is in charge with thoroughly investigating any public policy issue that the Chamber is asked to take a position on. All subjects are reviewed by being compared to the Chamber’s Five-Year Community Vision. Balanced presentations of the pros and cons of each issue are followed by discussion, lively debates and ultimately, recommendations to the Board. Members of this committee are appointed to one-year terms by the Board. For more information, contact Kate King, President & CEO. (8:15 a.m. second and fourth Wednesdays of the month)

ECONOMIC OUTLOOK STEERING COMMITTEE

Planning the Napa Chamber’s premier annual event is a big job, but it’s fun and interesting for business people from all walks of life. Learn about up-to-the-minute topics and trends and help find cutting edge speakers by being a part of this exciting planning committee. Meetings take place monthly from mid-June to October each year. (9:30 a.m.)

NAPA THINK TANK

Looking into the future of Napa Valley, especially in the areas of land use, protection of natural resources, economic vitality and public policy, the members of this committee are interested in “big picture” thinking. Intriguing presentations and thought provoking discussions are a monthly activity. Meetings are the on the fourth Tuesday of the month. (8:30 a.m.)

GREEN & SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES COMMITTEE

More and more businesses are examining their methods of doing business and looking for ways to conserve, recycle, renew and work in a sustainable manner. More and more consumers want to do business with businesses that are environmentally conscious. This committee is dedicated to address and support existing and new businesses with the hope of inspiring positive interaction, collaboration, and growth within our community while promoting the protection of our limited resources. Another role of this committee will be to advocate for a unified approach addressing green regulations and restrictions. If you are interested in the sustainable future of our county, then this is the committee for you. Meets first Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m.
