Location & Transportation
The Village of Alsip is located in the south-central part of Cook County in Worth Township, 19 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The Village covers nine square miles, and is accessible via two Cicero Avenue and two 127th Street exits from the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Easy access to Interstates 57, 80, 94 and 294 makes Alsip's location a major factor in the commercial, industrial and residential growth of the community.
Chicago O'Hare Airport is just a 40-minute drive from Alsip, and Chicago Midway Airport is 20 minutes away. A heavy concentration of commuter and interstate rail networks serve the Village, and the Regional Transit Authority's PACE bus system provides public transit within Alsip.
There is waterway and barge access via the Cal Sag Channel to the port of Chicago, Lake Michigan and the Illinois River
