Educational services are provided by public schools within Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205, several private and parochial schools, and public schools in Salt Creek District 48, Villa Park District 45 and DuPage High School District 88.
District 205 (formed in 1974) enrolls more than 7,600 students at a pre-K early childhood center, eight elementary schools (K-5), three middle schools (6-8) and York Community High School.
Private/parochial schools include Immaculate Conception Catholic Schools (K-12), Timothy Christian Schools (K-12), Visitation Catholic School (K-8) and Immanuel Lutheran School (K-8).
Elmhurst College (founded 1871) is a premiere, four-year, liberal arts college. Consistently ranked in the top tier of Midwestern comprehensive colleges by U.S. News & World Report, Elmhurst offers students of many ages and backgrounds purposeful learning for a whole life. With 58 undergraduate programs and eight master’s degree programs, Elmhurst seeks to prepare its 2,900 students superbly—for their first jobs, and for lifetimes of personal and professional fulfillment.
Elmhurst also is served publicly by College of DuPage (founded 1967), the nation’s largest single-campus community college.
