Advocate Christ Medical Center, a 695-bed, world-class teaching and research institution, is conveniently located in Oak Lawn. The hospital is a recognized leader and one of the major referral centers in the Midwest in a number of specialties, including cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, surgical services, women’s health and emergency medicine. The state-designated Level I trauma center registers nearly 80,000 emergency patient visits annually, making the institution one of the largest emergency and trauma centers in Illinois. More than 900 physicians are affiliated with the medical center.
Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital, a 69-bed pediatric hospital located on the Christ Medical Center campus, is staffed by more than 175 physicians. The hospital provides general pediatric care, as well as specialty care in over 30 specialties and subspecialties. Hope is home to the Heart Institute for Children, a nationally recognized teaching and research center for pediatric cardiac disease, and the Keyser Family Pediatric Cancer Center, one of the largest outpatient pediatric cancer programs in the Midwest.
