The labor force is perhaps one of Findlay’s greatest assets, stemming from top educational institutions from primary schooling through graduate studies. Over 6,500 students are enrolled in the Findlay City School system’s nine elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, along with the Millstream Career and Technology Center.
The Greater Findlay area provides another 13 school systems, each housing grades K-12. Doing all they can to prepare children to be lifelong learners, three school systems in Hancock County achieved an EXCELLENT performance rating on their “Report Card” given by the Ohio Department of Education. Only 31 percent of the school districts in the state achieved this highest ranking for the 2005-2006 Report Card.
Alternatives to public education can be found at several local private institutions including: Faith Academy of Findlay, an interdenominational pre-K through 8th grade Christian institution; St. Wendelin’s Catholic School housing grades 9-12; and St. Michael’s School, which provides education to students in pre-K through 8th grade in the 110,000 square foot St. Michael the Archangel School and Formation Center.
